On this weeks episode.

• Will James Keddy show that respect?

All this and more on your weekly TOTAP episode

[00:00:01] Ladies and gentlemen, sit back, put your feet up, it's time for The Other 3 Amigos Podcast

[00:00:08] with Declan McCormack, Wayne Mullins and Dan. Three lads, one podcast.

[00:00:16] On this week's episode of The Other 3 Amigos Podcast, it's the toe-tapper's fault if we don't win at the awards in London.

[00:00:23] The lads answer where we'll be this time next season. Was the Athlon result one of the worst in the club's history?

[00:00:29] We go to the mailbag, find out if Gary Hunt is under pressure and we have the Wexford Trophy lift preview.

[00:00:37] All of this and more on this week's episode of The Other 3 Amigos Podcast.

[00:00:46] Welcome to The Other 3 Amigos.

[00:00:48] Jesus Christ.

[00:00:50] Come on Dan.

[00:00:50] No natural.

[00:00:51] What?

[00:00:52] No natural there stuck in the trough, lads.

[00:00:55] Somehow your award-winning podcast.

[00:00:57] Yes.

[00:00:57] It's season 4, episode 69, episode 245 in total.

[00:01:03] And of course your award-nominated finalist.

[00:01:05] If we don't win this award, it's basically the toe-tapper's fault.

[00:01:09] Wayne Mullins, would you agree?

[00:01:11] I agree 100%.

[00:01:12] And I just want to say thank you to like the 47 people who I tagged on a tweet on Saturday night

[00:01:16] who didn't bother liking or retweeting, except for the Castle Inn.

[00:01:20] Thank you very much to Castle Inn, the only people to retweet us.

[00:01:23] There was also Red FM Sports, so thank you to them as well.

[00:01:25] And to everyone else, I would swear...

[00:01:27] I'm not going to...

[00:01:31] Yeah, if you didn't vote for us now when you've been listening to this pod, honestly do one.

[00:01:35] No, the people don't want to be associated with the podcast unless we win and then we'll be all over the place.

[00:01:40] Well, we're not coming back to you after the pod if we win.

[00:01:42] If we win it, we're not talking to you.

[00:01:45] Declan McCormick, do you share similar sentiments?

[00:01:49] No, I don't.

[00:01:50] I never do.

[00:01:51] I never...

[00:01:51] Everything is on our shoulders.

[00:01:53] I never like to put it on anybody else's shoulders, you know.

[00:01:58] So...

[00:01:58] Here, look, Decky, if you can't do an all like and a retweet because you're afraid to be associated with someone.

[00:02:03] I doubt it's anybody who's afraid to be reassociated.

[00:02:06] I'd imagine a lot of people haven't a clue who we were or what we were around about, you know, to be honest.

[00:02:11] Well, the Castle Inn and Cork City Centre knew who we were and they were quite nice to retweet us.

[00:02:15] So I would say we should all go to the Castle Inn for a few points the next time.

[00:02:19] Absolutely.

[00:02:20] The victory parade.

[00:02:20] Absolutely.

[00:02:21] I would imagine this is like...

[00:02:24] This is like when we started out first four years ago.

[00:02:28] And the first thing we did was tag Mark Scanlon in a few bits and pieces about the quality of the streams out of Turner's Cross and things like that.

[00:02:36] And I believe he had to ring Cork City to say, what's going on here?

[00:02:41] Who's this crowd who'd keep tagging me and shit about streams from Turner's Cross?

[00:02:45] And why the hell do they keep tagging me?

[00:02:47] He's like, oh yeah, that's a new podcast, Mark.

[00:02:49] I'm sure now he knows who we are.

[00:02:51] So do you know what I mean?

[00:02:52] Like there's semblance.

[00:02:53] There's parallel lines.

[00:02:55] Maybe some of those people who you didn't...

[00:02:57] Some of the people that you tweeted didn't know who we were.

[00:03:00] But in a couple of months' time, they might definitely know who we are, you know.

[00:03:03] So...

[00:03:03] It's too late then, Dickey.

[00:03:06] I don't forget this kind of stuff.

[00:03:07] You know that.

[00:03:12] Scotty's the memory of an elephant, lads.

[00:03:13] That's all they could tell you.

[00:03:14] Absolutely do.

[00:03:15] You still have a grudge since you were what?

[00:03:16] 12 years old again, wasn't it?

[00:03:19] I would say it's probably younger, to be honest with you.

[00:03:22] It would have been late primary school.

[00:03:25] Yeah.

[00:03:25] I said that grudge against that person.

[00:03:27] Still hold it.

[00:03:27] Dear to my heart.

[00:03:29] Do you see him out and about?

[00:03:30] No, but I still...

[00:03:32] I still hold it, like.

[00:03:34] You know?

[00:03:34] It's fine, like.

[00:03:36] Here.

[00:03:36] Do you know what?

[00:03:36] It's healthy.

[00:03:37] It keeps your heart going.

[00:03:39] It keeps your...

[00:03:39] You know?

[00:03:40] It keeps you kind of ticking along.

[00:03:43] Well, look.

[00:03:44] If we don't win this Shaggin' Award anyway...

[00:03:46] We've won already.

[00:03:47] It's all your fault.

[00:03:48] We've won already, so...

[00:03:50] Vote is closed now so we can say what we like.

[00:03:57] Right.

[00:03:58] A reminder.

[00:03:58] We are on YouTube.

[00:04:00] YouTube.com forward slash The Old Three Amigos Podcast.

[00:04:03] Even though I'm not sure has anything actually been going up on this YouTube, I've just been calling it out the last six episodes.

[00:04:09] They all get blocked because of the music we play.

[00:04:12] You can...

[00:04:12] I think you can listen to them.

[00:04:13] But with certain countries like the Dominican Republic and places like that, you can't listen to us.

[00:04:19] So, look.

[00:04:19] I'm sorry for our listeners and the Dominican Republic.

[00:04:24] Yeah.

[00:04:24] So, like and subscribe over there if you can, in fact, listen.

[00:04:27] Patreons can stream the pod on Spotify.

[00:04:30] Leave a review on the podcast apps for us.

[00:04:34] You can join our Patreon as well for €5 per month.

[00:04:37] Or if you want to help the pod out a little bit more but still get the same level of shit, you can throw us a tenner.

[00:04:41] We're still at €520 for Mary Mountain.

[00:04:44] Realistically, that's €820 because of West Cork Coffee Roasters.

[00:04:49] They're helping us out.

[00:04:50] Last damage this week.

[00:04:52] Dickel McCormack.

[00:04:53] Look, I was looking forward to listening today now after a good weekend.

[00:04:56] I seen some stuff from Ciarán Kildoff.

[00:05:00] I was looking forward to it on my Monday.

[00:05:01] On my Monday commute home.

[00:05:03] There's no sign of this last damage.

[00:05:05] Once again, what's happening?

[00:05:07] Don't know, mate.

[00:05:08] Demetrius is...

[00:05:10] Yeah, just going to have to be a long conversation in the off-season, I think, with our new Greek intern.

[00:05:17] Fantastic with AI and, you know, YouTube and everything else.

[00:05:21] But getting the pods out is a bit of an issue.

[00:05:26] Yeah, look, it's a build-up to next Sunday's Cup Final.

[00:05:31] It's kind of a busy week.

[00:05:33] There was a few retirements in the league, a few managerial announcements after the last game and things like that.

[00:05:38] So there's plenty in there.

[00:05:39] We just hope that it will be up before the women's FA Cup Final on Sunday.

[00:05:43] That's all we can pray for now.

[00:05:45] I heard Dominic Foley's leaving, is he?

[00:05:47] Yeah, 3D announced that a week after we announced it.

[00:05:53] So Dominic has left his job as 3D United Women's Manager, yeah.

[00:05:57] You should know that's against journalistic integrity, to be doing stuff like that.

[00:06:03] Well, look, I don't really...

[00:06:05] Look, it was a discussion, an open discussion at Cork City Sligo game in Little Island last Saturday night.

[00:06:15] I asked a few people on Sunday.

[00:06:16] They had all heard about it.

[00:06:18] So we didn't break the story, you know.

[00:06:20] We didn't tweet it.

[00:06:21] We didn't do any of that.

[00:06:22] We just discussed it on last week's pod like it was well-known in footballing circles, which I think it was, to be fair.

[00:06:28] So, yeah, there's no...

[00:06:30] I assumed 3D were okay with that, were they?

[00:06:32] Yeah, they were fine.

[00:06:34] Yeah, they announced, as I said, they announced their new manager this afternoon.

[00:06:39] So, they're driving ahead, getting ready for next season.

[00:06:42] All systems go up there.

[00:06:44] It's time for Academy Watch.

[00:06:45] You're some bollocks.

[00:06:47] I thought you were doing the other one.

[00:07:00] Under-20s beat UCD 2-0.

[00:07:02] Under-17s beat UCD 4-1.

[00:07:04] Under-15s lost to UCD 3-1.

[00:07:07] Under-14s had no game.

[00:07:09] There's nothing to do...

[00:07:11] There's nothing to mention at Academy Watch that we know of so far.

[00:07:14] I mean, things changed quickly last week.

[00:07:16] So we're going to go into a combined Academy Watch mailbag once more.

[00:07:21] It's been a long time since we played this one.

[00:07:26] The

[00:07:27] Pocztalion, Pocztalion, Pocztalion and черno-belый кот.

[00:07:34] Только день начнется,

[00:07:37] et s'utra проснется,

[00:07:40] garajanam pisma повезет.

[00:07:45] Pocztalion, Pocztalion, Pocztalion and черno-belый кот.

[00:07:51] Bez a shiki-touch.

[00:07:53] Better stop, will it? Better stop.

[00:07:55] Lads, we've been called out in the first one I'm reading here.

[00:07:59] Have we?

[00:08:00] Alright.

[00:08:00] What happened, the 40 for 40 series?

[00:08:03] For all the shit you gave the club about their anniversary efforts,

[00:08:06] you've only delivered 5% of what you promised.

[00:08:08] Time, Dan.

[00:08:10] Basically.

[00:08:12] That's as simple as.

[00:08:12] We had people lined up and it just never happened.

[00:08:16] Because we just...

[00:08:17] So much goes into these two podcasts.

[00:08:19] We kind of over...

[00:08:20] We hopefully had a different...

[00:08:22] Another presenter.

[00:08:24] But again, we know what happened there.

[00:08:26] So yeah, that's what happened.

[00:08:27] Simple reading.

[00:08:28] Fast forward to this time next year.

[00:08:30] What kind of season have City had back in the Premier Division?

[00:08:33] That comes in from Philly Crowley.

[00:08:36] We're answering the same questions every week here on MLS1.

[00:08:38] I just had a different take on it, to be fair.

[00:08:40] I think this time next year,

[00:08:42] we'll have a season that would have split the fan base to a degree.

[00:08:46] I think those who think we're going into the Premier Division next year and challenging for Europe and everything else,

[00:08:54] will be mightily frustrated, probably disappointed.

[00:08:58] I think those who are going up and looking at it, thinking, look, let's just consolidate a little bit, finished, whatever, sixth, seventh, whatever we can manage.

[00:09:07] And drive on the following season, we'll be more content.

[00:09:12] I would hope, but I would also look, we'll get into the games later on.

[00:09:17] But, that's recruitment is everything.

[00:09:19] And there's an awful, awful lot of recruitment to be done.

[00:09:22] And from what I'm hearing, it's, like, I've mentioned wage inflation on numerous occasions.

[00:09:32] And from what I'm hearing, like, I don't think there's a player next year who will make us better than what we are now,

[00:09:40] who will sign for Cork City for anything less than a grand a week.

[00:09:44] 1,200, 1,300 quid a week.

[00:09:46] This has always been a way, though, Dick.

[00:09:47] This has been a way since the dawn of time, like.

[00:09:50] Yeah, but it runs up quickly.

[00:09:52] And it builds up quickly.

[00:09:53] Dwayne, and, like, I think two or three years ago, that figure would have been much less.

[00:09:57] And Camara, I want to state it again.

[00:09:58] I don't begrudge it to players in the slightest.

[00:10:01] Like, a grand a week is 52 grand salary in a year.

[00:10:06] It's decent money, but, you know, there's plenty of people listening to this podcast who are earning plenty more than that, you know.

[00:10:13] So, you know, it's, I think, I think it's just going to be interesting.

[00:10:19] It's just going to be interesting to see what happens regarding signings, budgets, everything else.

[00:10:25] Because I can't get my head around the Shawnee Keats signings from a budget perspective.

[00:10:34] Just, like, we had Damien Delaney last year and his whole we don't go over budgeting.

[00:10:40] Dermott has been very, very forthright in his view that we don't go over budget.

[00:10:45] And then we signed Shawnee and Keats.

[00:10:49] And, obviously, we know there's an expense to that and there's a cost to that.

[00:10:52] And everybody appreciates that the club are paying it and, you know, all that's been done.

[00:10:57] But, as I said, does that come out of the prospective budget or is it added on top of the prospective budget?

[00:11:02] And I don't know the answer to that question.

[00:11:04] But I think we will find out in the off-season because around the league, player wage inflation is a real thing.

[00:11:14] And we may have to go much bigger budget than we had initially planned.

[00:11:21] And that's just a situation.

[00:11:25] And, like, I know you have the UEFA payments for next year where clubs are gone, where it's gone from 70 or 80 grand to 750 grand.

[00:11:34] PFA are aware of that.

[00:11:35] Agents are aware of that.

[00:11:36] Players are aware of that.

[00:11:38] They're going to want their cut of that.

[00:11:39] Rightfully so.

[00:11:42] And, as I said, all this stuff is just pushing wage inflation.

[00:11:45] And I'm very, very interested to see how the club deals with it in terms of budgeting and signing players and recruitment.

[00:11:54] And that was, as I said, you live and die by your recruitment.

[00:11:57] But our recruitment is going to cost us.

[00:11:59] And I just hope we're in a position that budgets allow us to do what we need to do.

[00:12:05] What's your inkling on what they will do?

[00:12:10] It's really hard to know.

[00:12:11] Like, they have to know.

[00:12:13] Look, I mean, look at the performances since we were promoted.

[00:12:18] It's staring us in the face.

[00:12:19] There's real, real recruitment needed.

[00:12:23] Waterford recruited well last year.

[00:12:26] They're going to finish seventh.

[00:12:28] You know, they got out of the blocks quickly.

[00:12:30] But when push comes to shove, Waterford probably finished the season in seventh.

[00:12:34] You know?

[00:12:36] And people have been saying all year, oh, we can do what Waterford did.

[00:12:40] We can.

[00:12:40] And that's what we need to do.

[00:12:42] But, as I said, they're going to finish seventh.

[00:12:43] They might squeak sixth.

[00:12:45] But for us and a lot of people connected and a lot of fans around, that would be the absolute minimum they would accept next season.

[00:12:54] But there's a real cost to that.

[00:12:56] Like, Galway's a different story.

[00:12:57] I keep saying Galway were four years putting that team together.

[00:13:01] And they came out of the first division really, really ready for Premier Division football.

[00:13:06] But they still brought in Greg Cunningham.

[00:13:09] They still brought in Jimmy Cohan.

[00:13:10] You know?

[00:13:10] They still...

[00:13:11] Their recruitment was really, really good.

[00:13:15] They didn't do as much of it as Waterford.

[00:13:17] But what they did do was really, really good.

[00:13:19] Like, all the signs are there that we have to do the same to have the same kind of season that Waterford have had this year.

[00:13:28] And there's no...

[00:13:29] There's no payback on that season.

[00:13:31] You finish seventh.

[00:13:32] You don't make Europe.

[00:13:34] You don't do anything.

[00:13:35] There's no big payday the following season.

[00:13:37] That's just money that's just invested.

[00:13:40] And then it has to be built on again the following season.

[00:13:42] So, as I said, I genuinely don't know what my inkling is.

[00:13:46] I think we may not get as many signings as people are expecting us to get would be my general inkling.

[00:13:55] Wayne Mullins, what's your inkling?

[00:13:57] Your spidey sins filling you.

[00:13:58] I see his point because, like, since the dawn of time, we've always had the...

[00:14:02] I call it the Riccough Flaherty tax, like, where he wouldn't come to Cork City because of the distance and the wages.

[00:14:07] But if you look at the top five in the Premier Division, three of them are...

[00:14:10] There's Shells, Derry, Shamrock, Galway, Sligo.

[00:14:13] Three are provincial teams.

[00:14:14] Derry, Sligo and Galway.

[00:14:16] We should be competing with them.

[00:14:20] Sligo normally haven't got a pot to piss in.

[00:14:22] They were fundraising the whole time.

[00:14:23] So, not having...

[00:14:24] Derry have a big owner, so did Galway.

[00:14:28] But so do we.

[00:14:30] And, like, there's probably 12 teams in the country that are big teams.

[00:14:35] You can call them the 12 Olympians.

[00:14:37] And we're at that table, like.

[00:14:38] And I think with money and extra backing from the Thunder Gods, who knows?

[00:14:46] Deky.

[00:14:48] Can I just say on Sligo Rovers, and it's something I don't see said anywhere.

[00:14:53] Sligo Rovers have an exceptional manager, in my opinion.

[00:14:57] Genuinely exceptional manager.

[00:15:00] John Russell has turned him into something that nobody predicted they would be.

[00:15:04] And he's done it, as Scotty has said, without having a pot to piss in.

[00:15:10] And it's an exceptional managerial performance, in my honest opinion.

[00:15:18] And that gives them a bit of an edge.

[00:15:20] Whether they can do it next year.

[00:15:21] Who knows?

[00:15:22] Like, Scotty's right.

[00:15:23] They don't have money.

[00:15:24] And any good player they have is probably in danger of getting snapped up by bigger League of Ireland clubs.

[00:15:31] So they kind of have to go season on season and rebuild and find these players every year.

[00:15:37] So we'll see what they can find next year.

[00:15:38] But it's definitely an interesting one.

[00:15:41] But if you look at our squad now, a lot of these players aren't from Cork.

[00:15:45] Do you know what I mean?

[00:15:46] You've got Brad Wade.

[00:15:47] You've got Greg Bulger, Malik Dyksteel, Evan McLaughlin, Rory Keating, Barry Coffey, Cian Bargery, Sean Murray, Mile Brookwell, Jack Doherty.

[00:15:56] There's loads of them there that are not from Cork.

[00:15:58] Now, I know they're probably not the calibre you want, but if we can get them down for less money.

[00:16:03] I know a grand a week's a lot of money, but if you want to take over a football club and you want to be a success,

[00:16:10] surely you know you've got to pay the money.

[00:16:12] There's no point in taking over this club.

[00:16:13] If you want to be mid-table, we could do that with Forrest, like.

[00:16:17] So we can't really dive in.

[00:16:21] Well, no, what I'm saying is you could.

[00:16:23] Yeah, OK.

[00:16:24] But you can't jump in claiming European football at the start of last season.

[00:16:28] And then realise, oh, OK, this is going to cost way more.

[00:16:30] It's tough.

[00:16:31] You dived in.

[00:16:32] You've got to pay the bucks.

[00:16:33] That's the way it is.

[00:16:34] Or get more out-of-the-investment.

[00:16:36] Yeah.

[00:16:37] Look, I think, to be fair to Dermot, I think the whole European football thing last year was pure inexperience, you know.

[00:16:45] And I genuinely hope people don't hold that against them or keep going on about it, you know.

[00:16:49] Deci, this is Cork's football club, like.

[00:16:52] No, I understand that.

[00:16:53] But what I'm saying is.

[00:16:54] We are European contenders every year we should be.

[00:16:57] And we always have been.

[00:16:58] So now they're just not.

[00:16:59] Should be?

[00:17:00] I'm sorry.

[00:17:00] No, no, that's no excuse.

[00:17:01] You know, we've been like, we're a big club in Ireland.

[00:17:04] We're probably top four.

[00:17:05] We should be.

[00:17:05] We're probably top two, I think, potential.

[00:17:09] OK.

[00:17:09] Not quality for Europe is inexcusable anymore.

[00:17:13] We've had a couple of years now.

[00:17:14] OK.

[00:17:14] It's the third year.

[00:17:15] OK.

[00:17:15] Get the shit together and fight for it, you know.

[00:17:19] OK.

[00:17:20] But in 20 minutes time, you're going to say losing 4-1 away in that loan doesn't matter.

[00:17:25] No, because this season doesn't matter anymore.

[00:17:27] That's the point I'm making.

[00:17:28] We've had the last three months to prepare for next season.

[00:17:31] If we go into next season with a similar squad we have now, it's the same conversation we've had for the last three years of pissing time away.

[00:17:40] Absolutely.

[00:17:40] If we went out and got Keating and Maguire, right, and no other plan.

[00:17:44] Heads have to roll, like.

[00:17:46] It's inexcusable.

[00:17:48] I wouldn't worry about this.

[00:17:50] I wouldn't worry about this season.

[00:17:51] No one gives a shit.

[00:17:52] It's hard for us even to get motivated to do a podcast, for Christ's sake.

[00:17:55] The club aren't even making mistakes.

[00:17:56] They couldn't even be arsed either.

[00:17:58] You know?

[00:18:01] Nobody cares.

[00:18:02] But this is the time where Tim Clancy, Drummond Usher, and anyone involved in recruitment should be on Wisecout 24-7 or at games looking around and seeing.

[00:18:12] Not what we did last season.

[00:18:14] I swear to God, if we get to January or February and we haven't signed these players until after the window closes, I'm going to lose my shit again.

[00:18:20] Yeah.

[00:18:20] Because there's no excuse this time.

[00:18:22] I agree.

[00:18:23] I agree.

[00:18:24] And that's my thing is it's going to be interesting to see what way it goes.

[00:18:27] Because, look, there's a number of players have been told that they're being left goal.

[00:18:31] Right?

[00:18:33] And one of the reasons given has been that there's younger players who can do the same job for less money.

[00:18:42] And that makes me go, oh, you know?

[00:18:46] That's a worry.

[00:18:47] So, as I said, I'm just wondering what way it's all going to go.

[00:18:51] That's all I'm saying is I just...

[00:18:53] Two years ago, there was a player who was called in and told, you're not going to play much next season.

[00:19:00] And two months later, they're asked to come back.

[00:19:03] They didn't.

[00:19:04] That's happened at least twice.

[00:19:06] In fact, three times.

[00:19:07] Mm-hmm.

[00:19:09] That can't happen again.

[00:19:10] We need to have players who, if they're being told, let go, that's it.

[00:19:16] But don't come back to them again like we did the last time and pay them even more money to get them back.

[00:19:21] There is zero excuse.

[00:19:23] I'll tell you now, Deky, if we go into next season with this squad and one or two extra, people will not tolerate it.

[00:19:30] They will not tolerate it.

[00:19:31] No.

[00:19:32] I agree with you.

[00:19:33] And I hope the club aren't doing this whole, oh, inexperienced bullshit again.

[00:19:37] This is serious.

[00:19:38] This is the season where it gets back on track.

[00:19:40] Enough for the last five years of rubbish.

[00:19:42] This is the season.

[00:19:43] I hope to Christ we're prepared for it.

[00:19:45] Yeah.

[00:19:46] My point about what has been told to players is, look, just household names have been told, and I'm not going to say who they are, right?

[00:19:54] I thought about this, and I'm like, no.

[00:19:58] These lads have been here three or four years.

[00:20:01] They've given us a lot, you know, and they deserve to go out on their own terms.

[00:20:05] So they deserve to put it on their own social media or for the club to do something to make the fans aware next Friday night.

[00:20:11] These are these last players, these players' last appearance at Turner's Cross.

[00:20:15] I don't think it's for us to say that.

[00:20:18] And I haven't told you guys the players involved.

[00:20:19] I've kept it to myself, and I think, I don't know if I'm right or wrong, and I might get slated for it, but I think for the first time in four years, these players deserve a bit of our respect to allow them to put it on their own social channels first and things like that.

[00:20:34] You know, that's the way I see it.

[00:20:36] But my thing about those younger players who can do it, it's like Tim is trying to find money to sign players.

[00:20:46] And obviously within a budget, he has to work within a budget and the rest of it.

[00:20:50] But I do wonder, and I still look, I've said it from the word go, and I know he signed a new deal.

[00:20:58] I do wonder about that relationship between manager and owner and all those things around budgets and everything else.

[00:21:05] But as I said, the feeling I get from the conversations I've been had is that Tim is trying to wheel and deal and find money to allow him to bring in better players.

[00:21:13] And to do so, he's sacrificing players that he probably would have kept as squad players if he felt he could.

[00:21:21] But he has to generate money from somewhere.

[00:21:23] So now he's going down the road of keeping younger players who obviously cost less.

[00:21:28] And leaving who may be genuine squad player contenders go to facilitate raising money to bring in better players, if that makes sense.

[00:21:42] That's my feeling on it.

[00:21:44] We'll have to see what happens.

[00:21:45] So you're going to have two players on huge money, loads of players on very little money and shots in the dark on media money.

[00:21:55] That's potentially what could happen.

[00:21:57] Yeah, possibly.

[00:21:59] That's absolutely insane.

[00:22:00] We've learned absolutely nothing in the last two years, if that's true.

[00:22:05] We'll know by February.

[00:22:07] We should know by January.

[00:22:09] We should know by the second week of January.

[00:22:11] Anyone after that, everyone's going to go, oh, relax, we're fine, there's plenty of time.

[00:22:14] If you haven't got the players in by the second week of January, we're back to where we were during Colin Healy's time.

[00:22:20] We're back towards, you know, we are like, it's...

[00:22:23] Yeah.

[00:22:24] Pre-season.

[00:22:24] Pre-season will be starting, you'd imagine.

[00:22:26] It's always the first week in January, isn't it?

[00:22:29] So as you said, Scott, if guys aren't in by the second week of January, and then for the full length of pre-season, you're probably behind the rest of the stage.

[00:22:37] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:22:39] But on the rapper's pod, Dormit was on a few weeks or months ago saying they were planning already for next year, so...

[00:22:45] Yeah.

[00:22:46] We've heard that before, though.

[00:22:47] Do you know?

[00:22:47] And we'll see what I said.

[00:22:50] Look, I think January 14th, second week of January.

[00:22:54] Let's see.

[00:22:54] If the squad is healthy, brilliant.

[00:22:56] If it's not, we're in trouble.

[00:22:57] Simple as that, really.

[00:22:58] And you can paint it away or wait until the end of the window, the transfer window.

[00:23:02] That means you're not prepared.

[00:23:03] Or the players you're going for are not the players you should be going for.

[00:23:06] They shall be wrapped up by Christmas.

[00:23:09] New Year's Day, they shall be wrapped up.

[00:23:11] Flying to cork on the second or third.

[00:23:15] Just to be fair here as well, though, Dan, you know.

[00:23:18] I'm not in any way having a go at the club because, as I said, there's always wheeling and dealing and stuff needs to be done and sorted out.

[00:23:25] No issue with that.

[00:23:26] I've always said that our first season in Premier Division, there wasn't a shortage of money.

[00:23:33] I mean, that wasn't why we went down.

[00:23:35] It was how the money was spent, not the volume of money that was spent.

[00:23:39] Next season, again, I wouldn't be overly concerned about the amount of money Dermot is willing to put in.

[00:23:48] It's how it's spent.

[00:23:49] And whether Tim and Dermot can find a happy medium on budgets and, you know, things like that, it's always a negotiation between an owner and a manager.

[00:23:57] A manager always wants more than an owner is willing to give.

[00:24:01] Obviously, we've brought in Sean and Keats.

[00:24:04] If that's on top of the original budget, then we're probably fine.

[00:24:09] But if that comes out of that original budget, then we're probably definitely going to be trying to scrimp and save and cut corners in certain areas that may harm the season long term.

[00:24:21] But as Scali says, we'll just have to wait and see.

[00:24:24] But look, I don't have any concerns about Dermot's willingness to spend money on the squad.

[00:24:31] It's never really been a concern.

[00:24:33] So what's the concern?

[00:24:34] So I'm confused now because the impression I got was there was no money there.

[00:24:37] It's just about budgets.

[00:24:40] The impression I got from this conversation was that we had a low budget because Tim had to scrimp and scrape.

[00:24:45] But now you're kind of saying that you're not concerned.

[00:24:48] I'm just confused.

[00:24:50] I'm not concerned about the levels of money that Dermot is willing or has been willing to put in.

[00:24:56] But with wage inflation, what looked a good budget six months.

[00:25:00] And you've got to remember now, he said that he had his budget for next year done six months ago.

[00:25:05] That budget's out the window in terms of wage inflation and everything else.

[00:25:09] So he now probably has to step up and increase that budget.

[00:25:13] And that's the question then is, is there a willingness to increase that budget?

[00:25:17] Is there a willingness to pay Shawnee and Keats outside of that budget?

[00:25:22] Or, as I said, does their wages come out of that budget that was probably set six months ago?

[00:25:27] Because if it is, like Dermot has said he knows what his budget will be for 2025, or sorry, for 2026, 2027.

[00:25:35] I've always felt that's kind of nonsensical.

[00:25:38] Because, yeah, you have no idea where we'll be in that time.

[00:25:42] Like, you know, so my concern isn't around Dermot's willingness to put in money.

[00:25:49] I guess my concern is around how much and have we realized that because of the wage inflation

[00:25:55] and because of the associated costs, that the budget that was agreed upon

[00:25:59] or that Dermot decided was there six months ago is now not big enough to carry us forward.

[00:26:07] And is he willing to go bigger and release more funding?

[00:26:12] And that's a conversation that himself and Tim will have to have and sort those.

[00:26:15] Then you're just pissing money away and getting relegated again.

[00:26:18] So, hey, back to square one again the year after.

[00:26:20] You wouldn't want to piss money away or you want to invest it?

[00:26:22] Investing it means we qualify for Europe and make the money back.

[00:26:24] Like, pissing me away means you're spending just enough.

[00:26:28] You might as well spend it on the toilet, like, you know.

[00:26:31] This Europe crack makes me laugh.

[00:26:33] Like, it genuinely does.

[00:26:34] Well, look, we've had five cushy years now of people taking the piss.

[00:26:39] It's time to, you know, they get a pass.

[00:26:42] They get a pass now until next week.

[00:26:43] And then I'm giving them a pass.

[00:26:46] I'm saying, yeah, look, it was 4-1 to Athlone.

[00:26:47] One of our most disgraceful results in the history of Cork City.

[00:26:50] But it's fine because, you know what, they're probably all in the piss.

[00:26:52] You deserve it.

[00:26:53] When you're winning, you deserve to go on the piss.

[00:26:55] Shit starts next week.

[00:26:56] And it's time now to grow up, grow a pair of balls, get strong and fight for Cork City Football Club.

[00:27:05] When are we finishing 40 for 40?

[00:27:10] Thanks, Filly Crowley.

[00:27:12] That's the 45-minute pod gone anyway.

[00:27:16] Duncan Oonan.

[00:27:17] Will Malik Dykes deal score 20 or 30 goals next season?

[00:27:22] Are they my only two options?

[00:27:24] Are they?

[00:27:25] They're the only two options listed, yeah.

[00:27:28] I'll go for 20, so.

[00:27:30] I'll go for 20, so.

[00:27:32] Chris Martin says,

[00:27:34] Results are real concern now the last two months.

[00:27:36] Losing becomes a habit.

[00:27:38] Is the recent farm hammering home the point that there's only about four players outside of the youth graduates worth keeping?

[00:27:46] Wayne.

[00:27:46] As Ducky says, that's for next week.

[00:27:50] We can hammer him next week.

[00:27:52] Let's just get through this trophy celebration and, you know.

[00:27:56] P.S. Dan, are you and the housemates showering together to save the planet?

[00:28:06] I'm one person in the shower only.

[00:28:09] Yeah.

[00:28:10] Especially in their showers, like.

[00:28:11] Yeah, you wouldn't have room to scratch your balls.

[00:28:15] It depends what way you like it, Dan, do you know?

[00:28:18] Should women always have the thing bait up to the last leg?

[00:28:21] Be like lava coming down.

[00:28:22] What?

[00:28:23] No.

[00:28:24] No.

[00:28:28] Move on, Dan.

[00:28:29] Move on.

[00:28:33] Conor says,

[00:28:35] Out.

[00:28:35] Dyke, Steel, Dowling, Coleman, Brookwell, Murphy.

[00:28:38] And we have five players who are signed until the end of next season.

[00:28:41] I also want one of them to go,

[00:28:43] but I shall say nothing in case they want.

[00:28:46] In case they stay.

[00:28:47] I'm just reading that out rather than you're going without comment there.

[00:28:50] Ian Crowley says,

[00:28:52] Who would you want to play pre-season?

[00:28:54] Give us the shopping centre again.

[00:28:57] Revenge.

[00:28:58] Revenge is needed, Dan.

[00:28:59] Revenge is needed from the shopping centre.

[00:29:02] Because we're Premier Division now next season, Dan,

[00:29:05] you can always figure out our pre-season.

[00:29:07] It's going to be Treaty.

[00:29:08] It's going to be Cove.

[00:29:12] Won't be Waterford because they'll be Premier Division.

[00:29:15] So, yeah, you'll have a couple of the Munster.

[00:29:17] You'll have the Munster Senior Cup thing probably thrown in there again.

[00:29:20] So, yeah, it'll be fairly easy to figure it out, I'd imagine.

[00:29:28] Ben says,

[00:29:30] Will Declan be pitch invading on Friday?

[00:29:32] And what's your favourite Cian Murphy moment?

[00:29:39] Will I be pitch invading?

[00:29:41] No.

[00:29:42] I won't be in the pitch invasion anyway.

[00:29:44] I'll just stand up into Johnny Ford and applaud politely with the rest of the Johnny Forders.

[00:29:53] My favourite Cian Murphy moment.

[00:29:57] Look, as I said, Cian, he tries and he's a great lad, I'm sure.

[00:30:05] And I really don't.

[00:30:07] I know I've probably gotten this thing with, oh, he hates Cian.

[00:30:10] I don't.

[00:30:11] But we have to be rootless and we have to be cutthroat-like, which we weren't last time.

[00:30:20] But I think we are being this time, to be fair to Tim.

[00:30:23] As I said, there's a few names, though, who have been told they're going.

[00:30:26] And I think it's definitely more cutthroat than it was last time round.

[00:30:30] But it's different circumstances as well.

[00:30:34] I've given myself a minute now trying to think of a Cian Murphy moment.

[00:30:37] And I still haven't come up with one lad.

[00:30:39] So, oh, I'm going to have to pass.

[00:30:41] Sorry.

[00:30:41] Wow.

[00:30:43] Jack Keller, are these last few weeks a blessing in disguise showing the club the work that must be put in for next season?

[00:30:50] Wayne, would you call it a blessing in disguise?

[00:30:53] Well, I think now, I don't want to say this.

[00:30:57] These players have obviously been put in the shop window.

[00:31:01] That's now what I see of it.

[00:31:03] Are these certain few lads just being played so they can kind of find a club for next season?

[00:31:07] Do you know what?

[00:31:08] It's an area I don't want anyone to talk about.

[00:31:10] To be honest.

[00:31:11] Not yet.

[00:31:12] Next week, we'll go two-footed into every single one of them.

[00:31:15] It'll be fine.

[00:31:16] Yeah, we might take a break next week yet.

[00:31:17] We'll see.

[00:31:18] The jury's opening that one.

[00:31:21] We have a DM, even though we kind of answered the last few weeks now.

[00:31:24] Are there any players from the first division that you would like to see City bring in for next season?

[00:31:28] The way it's going, it's probably going to have to be the case.

[00:31:31] Last week was quite good, wasn't he?

[00:31:34] Kyle Robinson.

[00:31:35] Yeah.

[00:31:36] We had an opportunity to bring Kyle Robinson in last summer when he was leaving Shelburne.

[00:31:43] I think I've said this before.

[00:31:44] Shelburne told us he was available.

[00:31:46] We told Shelburne we'd get back to them and we never touched base with them again.

[00:31:50] He went to Drogheda and he scored four, was it for Drogheda?

[00:31:55] Five to help keep them up.

[00:31:57] Then he went to Scotland.

[00:31:59] And he's come back to that loan now, this summer.

[00:32:04] And obviously, got a hat-trick last Friday night against us.

[00:32:08] I don't think there is, to be honest, in the first division.

[00:32:13] There's probably a couple of young fellas around the place if you did enough research.

[00:32:18] But they'd be projects and we're probably full with projects.

[00:32:22] I mean, we have our own projects.

[00:32:23] We have Noah Swinski.

[00:32:25] We have Aaron Healy.

[00:32:27] We have Matt Murray.

[00:32:30] We have the young lad whose name escapes me, who plays left-back that I said last week.

[00:32:36] I'd be okay with him starting 10 games at a left-back.

[00:32:39] Yeah, Matt Kiernan.

[00:32:40] So we have our own.

[00:32:41] I don't think we have room for more projects.

[00:32:44] I said Leo Gaxa was one I would have liked to have a look at in the summer

[00:32:48] and have given him four months there to see.

[00:32:51] I was taught it was he went to that loan.

[00:32:54] He set up, well, kind of set up the fourth goal the other night.

[00:32:57] So, no, genuinely, I don't think there's anybody in the first division I'm looking at.

[00:33:01] Because they have to be plug and play.

[00:33:03] They have to be ready to step in and play premier division football.

[00:33:07] And nobody has jumped out at me as being of that calibre from the first division this year.

[00:33:12] That probably leads us nicely into the game.

[00:33:15] At loan for City 1.

[00:33:18] Wayne Mullins.

[00:33:19] What did you describe it as?

[00:33:20] One of the worst results in Corksley's history?

[00:33:23] When you look back at it on one of those League of Ireland results books,

[00:33:28] it's going to look as one of the worst.

[00:33:29] Of course it is.

[00:33:30] But does it matter?

[00:33:31] I don't think so.

[00:33:34] I know people, I used to be the first person losing their shit from it,

[00:33:36] but it's the end of the season.

[00:33:39] Like, nobody's motivated at all.

[00:33:41] Like, the fans aren't motivated.

[00:33:43] This podcast isn't motivated.

[00:33:44] The club aren't motivated.

[00:33:45] So, I can kind of see how it happened.

[00:33:48] It shouldn't have happened.

[00:33:50] But all the goals were kind of like,

[00:33:53] they were crackers like.

[00:33:55] You know what I was putting them from fucking all ends.

[00:33:57] So, it was a tough watch.

[00:33:59] But you kind of sat there after 60 minutes just laughing.

[00:34:01] I did anyway.

[00:34:03] I just went out and filled another drink for myself

[00:34:05] and just started laughing and giggling,

[00:34:06] texting everyone going,

[00:34:07] look at this shit's happening.

[00:34:09] And certain people were losing their heads

[00:34:10] and others weren't.

[00:34:12] And I was sitting there going,

[00:34:13] yeah, sure, look.

[00:34:14] Who cares?

[00:34:15] And it is worrying

[00:34:17] because you should really play it to the end,

[00:34:18] but I also get where they don't.

[00:34:20] But a 4-1-Tath-Launch should never happen.

[00:34:22] It should never happen.

[00:34:24] Now you're saying it to me

[00:34:25] and I'm thinking in my head,

[00:34:26] at-down-Town-4-Cork-31.

[00:34:28] It's an absolute disgrace, really.

[00:34:31] I'm kind of coming around to Decky's view.

[00:34:32] I've turned one,

[00:34:33] I've done a full 180 here on this.

[00:34:35] When you look at the cold out of the day,

[00:34:38] 4-1-Tath-Launch is an absolute travesty of a result.

[00:34:42] You know?

[00:34:43] So, I don't know.

[00:34:44] Come back to me in half an hour,

[00:34:45] I might say it's grand again.

[00:34:47] Who knows?

[00:34:51] I sound bad there.

[00:34:53] Brilliant.

[00:34:54] Decky, is this Athlone,

[00:34:56] the Athlone sound team

[00:34:57] seemed to have her number a small bit.

[00:34:59] What is it about,

[00:35:00] do you think,

[00:35:00] the way they set up that troubles us?

[00:35:02] I don't think it was anything to do with set-up

[00:35:04] or anything last Friday night,

[00:35:05] to be honest with you.

[00:35:07] The first game that they beat us 1-0,

[00:35:09] I think they were somewhat fortunate.

[00:35:15] Friday night,

[00:35:16] it was more about us, I think,

[00:35:18] than it was about,

[00:35:19] no, look,

[00:35:20] Scotty said it,

[00:35:20] Kyle Robinson got three fantastic goals.

[00:35:22] The first question I have is,

[00:35:24] do either of you know,

[00:35:25] is Evan McLaughlin back from the shops yet

[00:35:27] after that first goal?

[00:35:31] I'm missing,

[00:35:32] I'm fishing.

[00:35:34] Yeah, you know,

[00:35:35] and look,

[00:35:37] it's a great strike,

[00:35:38] but if you go back to that goal,

[00:35:40] it's our throw-in on the far side,

[00:35:42] and McLaughlin has Robinson,

[00:35:45] and it just allows him to wander off him,

[00:35:47] and it's just like,

[00:35:48] I'm not really clued in,

[00:35:49] I'm not concentrating,

[00:35:51] doesn't really bother me,

[00:35:52] we're 1-0 up,

[00:35:54] we'd be grand,

[00:35:55] and then Robinson has acres of space,

[00:35:58] there's a lovely through ball,

[00:36:00] from Aaron Connolly,

[00:36:01] and then as I said,

[00:36:03] as McLaughlin tries to recover,

[00:36:04] he's sent to the shops,

[00:36:06] and it's 1-0.

[00:36:09] The second goal again,

[00:36:11] Scotty said like,

[00:36:11] oh,

[00:36:12] it's probably unstoppable,

[00:36:13] and it is from the point of view,

[00:36:15] when he takes the shot,

[00:36:16] it's unstoppable,

[00:36:17] but he picks up the ball,

[00:36:18] halfway inside,

[00:36:19] the outlaw and half,

[00:36:20] out wide,

[00:36:21] he's never challenged,

[00:36:23] there's nobody,

[00:36:24] there's nobody gets near him,

[00:36:26] he gets the shot off,

[00:36:27] there's nobody,

[00:36:28] even making an effort,

[00:36:30] to block him down,

[00:36:30] so,

[00:36:31] we're really clued out of the game,

[00:36:33] we're really in,

[00:36:34] don't give a shit kind of mode,

[00:36:35] I think,

[00:36:37] and there was a real lack of effort,

[00:36:39] and like all the goals,

[00:36:42] like the third goal,

[00:36:43] I'm trying to recall now,

[00:36:46] the fourth goal is the volley,

[00:36:48] that he has from the edge of the,

[00:36:49] or sorry,

[00:36:50] yeah,

[00:36:50] that's the third goal,

[00:36:51] sorry,

[00:36:51] is the volley from the edge of the area,

[00:36:53] again,

[00:36:54] he's standing on the edge of the area,

[00:36:56] there's nobody within,

[00:36:57] five or six feet of him,

[00:36:59] when the ball drops to him,

[00:37:00] there's nobody closing down the ball,

[00:37:02] there's nobody working hard,

[00:37:04] and then the fourth goal is,

[00:37:06] you know,

[00:37:06] it's a long free kick from Aaron Connolly,

[00:37:10] winger does well,

[00:37:11] gets a ball across the goal,

[00:37:12] and your man knocks it in from the,

[00:37:13] from,

[00:37:14] you know,

[00:37:15] halfway inside the penalty spot,

[00:37:16] but it's like,

[00:37:16] there's just four really,

[00:37:18] really poor goals,

[00:37:20] and they're goals that can be prevented,

[00:37:22] with a bit of hard work,

[00:37:24] and a bit of proper attitude,

[00:37:25] and it wasn't there,

[00:37:26] and I think that was the most disappointing thing,

[00:37:28] and I know,

[00:37:30] people are listening to this,

[00:37:31] going for God's sake,

[00:37:32] they won the league,

[00:37:33] nobody gives a shit,

[00:37:34] and I understand that,

[00:37:35] I genuinely do,

[00:37:37] but I do think at times,

[00:37:39] you have,

[00:37:39] like Scotty said it there,

[00:37:40] there's players on the pitch,

[00:37:41] who are either playing for a contract,

[00:37:43] here next year,

[00:37:43] or playing for a contract,

[00:37:45] somewhere else next year,

[00:37:46] and,

[00:37:47] you just have to be better than that,

[00:37:49] you have to represent,

[00:37:51] the short,

[00:37:52] and the crest,

[00:37:53] and the club,

[00:37:54] and the fan base,

[00:37:55] you have to do it a bit better than that,

[00:37:57] and I don't care if you've already been relegated,

[00:37:59] or if you've already been promoted,

[00:38:02] it's like,

[00:38:03] just represent us a small bit better than that,

[00:38:05] please,

[00:38:06] you know,

[00:38:07] jeez,

[00:38:08] you'll be sick in front of the fans,

[00:38:08] that went up there,

[00:38:10] yeah,

[00:38:11] I mean,

[00:38:11] can you imagine going all the way to that long,

[00:38:12] to watch that,

[00:38:13] like,

[00:38:13] you know,

[00:38:14] and the thing is,

[00:38:15] we went one up,

[00:38:16] and we scored a very,

[00:38:17] very good goal,

[00:38:18] you know,

[00:38:19] like,

[00:38:20] McLaughlin does very well,

[00:38:21] plays a lovely ball into Dyche Steele,

[00:38:23] little flick over the keeper,

[00:38:26] brilliant flick over the keeper,

[00:38:27] to be fair to Malik,

[00:38:28] and Keats knocks it in,

[00:38:30] and it's 1-0,

[00:38:30] and kind of going,

[00:38:32] yeah,

[00:38:33] this is it,

[00:38:33] this is the game now,

[00:38:34] where we're going to give somebody a thump,

[00:38:35] and all of a sudden,

[00:38:37] where do we get thumped,

[00:38:39] because the attitude wasn't right,

[00:38:41] and look,

[00:38:42] that's fair enough,

[00:38:42] but you talk a lot,

[00:38:44] and we talk a lot in last dance,

[00:38:45] about players setting standards,

[00:38:47] in the dressing room,

[00:38:49] like,

[00:38:49] and people talk about Galway,

[00:38:51] that Galway team,

[00:38:52] that never happened to them last year,

[00:38:54] they got promoted,

[00:38:55] and they just kept going,

[00:38:56] and the standard never dropped,

[00:38:59] and the style,

[00:39:01] you know,

[00:39:01] the work rate never dropped,

[00:39:03] and the intensity never dropped,

[00:39:06] we got promoted this year,

[00:39:07] and we've packed it in,

[00:39:08] you know,

[00:39:08] what is it,

[00:39:09] like,

[00:39:10] is it five,

[00:39:11] we haven't won in now,

[00:39:12] four draws,

[00:39:13] and then we are in a defeat,

[00:39:14] or something like that,

[00:39:17] I don't like,

[00:39:18] I understand it,

[00:39:19] and I understand why,

[00:39:20] but people who are talking about Galway,

[00:39:22] and we can do what Galway did,

[00:39:24] look at it,

[00:39:24] look,

[00:39:25] look,

[00:39:26] look at the difference in attitude,

[00:39:27] look at the difference in work rate,

[00:39:29] look at the difference in intensity,

[00:39:31] we can't do what Galway did,

[00:39:33] in my opinion,

[00:39:33] we can't,

[00:39:34] because we don't have the same,

[00:39:36] ethic,

[00:39:37] through the team,

[00:39:38] that Galway had through their team,

[00:39:40] in my humble opinion,

[00:39:41] and that's not meant as a,

[00:39:44] disrespectful joy about anybody,

[00:39:45] or anything,

[00:39:47] that's not the way I mean it,

[00:39:48] for years,

[00:39:50] at what stage do we actually,

[00:39:52] do joy about people,

[00:39:53] at what stage do we poke the bear,

[00:39:54] at what stage do we say,

[00:39:55] this isn't good enough,

[00:39:57] this has been going on for,

[00:39:58] five years,

[00:40:00] players with shitty attitudes,

[00:40:01] players who don't give,

[00:40:02] so like,

[00:40:03] at what stage do we,

[00:40:03] do we gloss over again this season,

[00:40:05] wait till next season,

[00:40:06] then the podcaster,

[00:40:07] add it again,

[00:40:08] and we're giving out this,

[00:40:09] we're giving out that,

[00:40:10] why does someone,

[00:40:11] why are we,

[00:40:12] signing these players,

[00:40:13] why are they still here,

[00:40:14] I just don't understand it,

[00:40:16] you know,

[00:40:17] like I,

[00:40:18] yeah,

[00:40:19] I was online Friday night,

[00:40:20] look I'll be the first time in it,

[00:40:21] I don't drink much,

[00:40:23] I had a few pints Friday night,

[00:40:24] I was out,

[00:40:25] so that was probably affecting my,

[00:40:27] I'm looking at all caps here,

[00:40:29] on our,

[00:40:29] fine words to describe this,

[00:40:31] do not excuse this shit,

[00:40:33] if you do,

[00:40:33] it'll come back to haunt us,

[00:40:35] yeah,

[00:40:36] don't excuse the lack of work rate,

[00:40:38] don't excuse the lack of intensity,

[00:40:41] don't excuse the lack of desire,

[00:40:43] because if they're there now,

[00:40:44] they'll be there next year,

[00:40:45] when push comes to shove,

[00:40:48] you don't turn on and off these things,

[00:40:50] in my humble opinion,

[00:40:50] I know,

[00:40:51] I know,

[00:40:52] I know,

[00:40:52] I know we've been promoted,

[00:40:54] but there's enough signs,

[00:40:55] the last five,

[00:40:56] six weeks,

[00:40:57] for us to go,

[00:40:58] okay,

[00:41:00] lads,

[00:41:00] there's a huge amount of,

[00:41:02] redevelopment that this squad needs to happen,

[00:41:04] has to happen,

[00:41:05] and that's what I mean by,

[00:41:06] don't ignore what's in front of your face,

[00:41:09] don't think we can get away,

[00:41:11] playing Premier Division football,

[00:41:13] with this kind of carry on next year,

[00:41:15] because we can't,

[00:41:16] and if people want to excuse it,

[00:41:18] I understand this,

[00:41:19] and I genuinely understand why,

[00:41:22] but then don't say you're surprised next year,

[00:41:25] if it comes back and bites us in the arse,

[00:41:27] that's all I'm saying to people,

[00:41:29] yeah,

[00:41:30] you're right,

[00:41:31] you're right,

[00:41:33] find the words to describe this,

[00:41:35] Declan's on there,

[00:41:36] as I just mentioned out,

[00:41:38] and then he follows it up with,

[00:41:40] closest we'll get to Europe,

[00:41:41] is Derry away,

[00:41:43] Billy Dorney says,

[00:41:44] that was my learned friend,

[00:41:46] talking about Europe,

[00:41:47] I think,

[00:41:47] wasn't it,

[00:41:49] I think so,

[00:41:50] I think so,

[00:41:51] Billy Dorney says,

[00:41:52] thank God we're leaving this division,

[00:41:54] otherwise I'll be committed,

[00:41:55] Billy Dorney says,

[00:41:57] remember the Alamo,

[00:41:58] Billy Dorney says,

[00:41:59] KBD,

[00:42:02] to be fair to Kevin Barry,

[00:42:03] actually got class photos,

[00:42:04] of the Hoyer Rocks and things,

[00:42:06] photos weren't planned,

[00:42:08] Richie says,

[00:42:09] Decky,

[00:42:10] next time Tim comes round for din-dins,

[00:42:12] can you slip a laxative,

[00:42:13] in the paris,

[00:42:13] and carrot soup,

[00:42:14] so he too can realise,

[00:42:16] that shit is not acceptable,

[00:42:17] I've never spoken to Kim Clancy,

[00:42:19] in my life,

[00:42:20] that's all I could say,

[00:42:21] Kim Clancy,

[00:42:22] is that his alter ego,

[00:42:25] what,

[00:42:26] my lips kind of got stuck,

[00:42:28] I don't know what happened,

[00:42:29] Tim,

[00:42:30] Tim,

[00:42:30] Tim obviously,

[00:42:31] Kim's coming over later,

[00:42:35] Billy Dorney says,

[00:42:36] I'm taking up that,

[00:42:37] if we ever get demoted again,

[00:42:39] life as an Irish playing spotter,

[00:42:41] James Greenham says,

[00:42:43] embarrassingly predictable,

[00:42:44] Billy Dorney says,

[00:42:45] good incentive to sort out our squad,

[00:42:47] for next season,

[00:42:48] call,

[00:42:48] call,

[00:42:49] call,

[00:42:49] Duncan Noonan says,

[00:42:50] don't ignore what's staring us,

[00:42:52] in the face,

[00:42:53] Ian Crowley says,

[00:42:54] Athlon equals banana peel,

[00:42:56] Scott Buckley says,

[00:42:57] forget about it,

[00:42:59] Ade Long says,

[00:42:59] trial and error,

[00:43:00] Ben says,

[00:43:01] didn't watch it,

[00:43:02] so I don't know,

[00:43:03] the Rebel Academy says,

[00:43:04] no excuses,

[00:43:04] 10 goals conceded,

[00:43:06] in our last three games,

[00:43:07] bearing a centre back duo,

[00:43:09] of left back,

[00:43:09] and a guy who's barely played,

[00:43:11] or B team should still beat them comfortably,

[00:43:13] not a good look for next year,

[00:43:16] I think we're in for a relegation battle again,

[00:43:19] Anthony O'Sullivan says,

[00:43:21] definitely not majestic,

[00:43:22] Philly Crowley says,

[00:43:24] shambles,

[00:43:24] Ian Crowley says,

[00:43:25] in a season,

[00:43:27] where we've conceded only 23,

[00:43:29] 10 of these came in our last four games,

[00:43:32] should we be worried,

[00:43:33] or do we give a shit,

[00:43:34] hashtag job done,

[00:43:36] Sean says,

[00:43:37] straight back down,

[00:43:38] Magpie says,

[00:43:39] Dickie was right,

[00:43:40] no,

[00:43:41] Manuel says,

[00:43:42] shit,

[00:43:43] Topper says,

[00:43:44] what goes up,

[00:43:45] might as well,

[00:43:46] might as well come straight back down,

[00:43:48] Gene O'Keefe says,

[00:43:49] absolutely unprofessional,

[00:43:51] I'm embarrassed,

[00:43:52] Troy Holland says,

[00:43:53] wake up call,

[00:43:54] beer bellied,

[00:43:54] Hoofer says,

[00:43:55] why did City bring fireworks to the game,

[00:43:57] because they wanted to blast their way to a win,

[00:44:00] but ended up just fizzling out,

[00:44:03] Kevin O'Connell says,

[00:44:04] shit show,

[00:44:05] Ian Draper says,

[00:44:07] this is a pointing journey,

[00:44:08] wrong type of fireworks,

[00:44:09] Jay says,

[00:44:10] embarrassing and a real wake up call,

[00:44:12] but probably the best hat trick I've ever seen though,

[00:44:14] CL 2023 says,

[00:44:16] should have stayed at home,

[00:44:18] Conn says,

[00:44:19] atholonesome,

[00:44:21] Adlala says,

[00:44:21] accumulator destroyer,

[00:44:23] Conor says,

[00:44:24] Quinevy,

[00:44:25] our friends in Atholones say,

[00:44:27] simply brilliant,

[00:44:28] and Burnwood says,

[00:44:29] Maguire will find,

[00:44:31] he's come back to a much harder league,

[00:44:33] dot dot dot,

[00:44:34] goat,

[00:44:35] laughing emoji,

[00:44:36] any favour from that?

[00:44:38] I like that,

[00:44:39] lonesome there towards the end,

[00:44:40] that's quite clever.

[00:44:41] No,

[00:44:41] that was good.

[00:44:42] Yeah,

[00:44:42] it's quite clever.

[00:44:44] we're going to go now,

[00:44:45] to the most prestigious award,

[00:44:47] in world football,

[00:44:49] it is the toe tap,

[00:44:50] Dick,

[00:44:50] you got it,

[00:44:51] it is the toe tap,

[00:44:52] MVP.

[00:44:54] MVP.

[00:44:54] The most prestigious award,

[00:44:56] in world football,

[00:44:58] it's the other three amigos,

[00:45:02] MVP.

[00:45:10] Jesus Christ,

[00:45:11] this is depressing,

[00:45:13] 56% of the vote,

[00:45:15] it's Keats,

[00:45:16] in second place,

[00:45:17] he left in four goals,

[00:45:18] but he did get a 26% of the vote,

[00:45:20] it is Bradley Wade,

[00:45:23] we have a tie,

[00:45:23] as well,

[00:45:24] for the third spot,

[00:45:26] it's McLaughlin,

[00:45:27] and Bolger,

[00:45:28] on 9%,

[00:45:28] we only had 80 votes,

[00:45:30] as well,

[00:45:30] this,

[00:45:31] this used to be like 250,

[00:45:32] 300.

[00:45:33] Who voted for Brad Wade,

[00:45:34] come on?

[00:45:35] Seriously.

[00:45:37] And,

[00:45:38] yeah,

[00:45:39] that concludes,

[00:45:40] the toe tap,

[00:45:40] MVP,

[00:45:42] that,

[00:45:42] that is the end of the first half,

[00:45:43] I believe,

[00:45:44] is it?

[00:45:44] It's great.

[00:45:45] Just before you go,

[00:45:45] just before you go,

[00:45:46] Dan,

[00:45:47] can I just,

[00:45:47] can I just say something?

[00:45:49] I'm just looking here,

[00:45:50] now,

[00:45:50] obviously,

[00:45:51] I don't know if you're aware,

[00:45:51] Derry are playing Sligo Rovers,

[00:45:53] tonight in Derry,

[00:45:54] in the Premier Division,

[00:45:56] and a couple of weeks ago,

[00:45:57] I said Derry were the greatest bottlers,

[00:45:59] of all time,

[00:46:00] and tonight,

[00:46:00] about 15 minutes ago,

[00:46:02] I said John Russell,

[00:46:03] was an exceptionally,

[00:46:05] exceptionally good manager,

[00:46:06] who would,

[00:46:08] and could,

[00:46:09] go on to do very good things,

[00:46:10] in this league,

[00:46:11] over his career,

[00:46:13] and at halftime,

[00:46:14] it's Derry City,

[00:46:14] and it's Sligo Rovers won,

[00:46:15] just to,

[00:46:16] prove both points,

[00:46:18] in half anyway.

[00:46:19] Huh?

[00:46:20] Derry wouldn't win,

[00:46:21] now,

[00:46:21] 4-1,

[00:46:21] 4-1,

[00:46:22] full time result.

[00:46:25] First strike again,

[00:46:27] who's winning it?

[00:46:28] Sorry Sligo,

[00:46:30] Sligo are one up,

[00:46:31] at halftime,

[00:46:32] but I think,

[00:46:32] Sligo Rovers,

[00:46:33] the winner.

[00:46:34] Well,

[00:46:35] Derry had two games in hand,

[00:46:36] they drew,

[00:46:37] at home,

[00:46:38] to Bowes on Friday night,

[00:46:39] won all,

[00:46:40] and they're now,

[00:46:40] one down at home,

[00:46:41] to Sligo at halftime,

[00:46:43] the second game in hand,

[00:46:44] like I mean,

[00:46:44] I've never seen a team,

[00:46:46] to horse a league away,

[00:46:47] like Derry,

[00:46:47] have horseed this one,

[00:46:48] people will say,

[00:46:49] Shelburne horseed it away,

[00:46:50] forget it,

[00:46:51] Shelburne are ahead of where,

[00:46:52] they should be on the curve,

[00:46:54] if Derry don't win this league,

[00:46:56] they'll never again win one,

[00:46:58] it's just,

[00:46:59] I've never seen a club,

[00:47:00] horse something away,

[00:47:01] the way Derry have horseed,

[00:47:02] this one away,

[00:47:02] if they don't win it,

[00:47:04] incredible,

[00:47:05] incredible.

[00:47:06] Do you think Higgins has the goal?

[00:47:08] Even if they won it,

[00:47:09] I'd sack Higgins,

[00:47:10] I don't think he's like,

[00:47:13] genuinely don't,

[00:47:14] even if he won it,

[00:47:15] he could win the double loan,

[00:47:16] he could genuinely win the double loan,

[00:47:17] I'd still sack him,

[00:47:19] that's just me and my world,

[00:47:20] and how I look at things.

[00:47:21] They probably should have won it,

[00:47:22] last year as well,

[00:47:23] to be fair.

[00:47:24] Of course,

[00:47:26] should have two or three won,

[00:47:27] with this stage,

[00:47:28] anyway,

[00:47:28] we digress.

[00:47:31] That concludes the end of the first half,

[00:47:32] so Tapper,

[00:47:33] come back to us in the second half,

[00:47:34] we'll have,

[00:47:35] the trophy lift preview,

[00:47:37] and we'll probably find out,

[00:47:38] if Gary Hunt is under pressure,

[00:47:40] or something like that.

[00:47:46] Hey,

[00:47:46] Tau Tapper,

[00:47:47] as you know,

[00:47:48] everything is increasing in price,

[00:47:50] extra small clothes,

[00:47:52] anger management classes,

[00:47:53] raw liver is the same price as gold,

[00:47:56] and Kid Sweets used to have 20 per pack,

[00:47:58] and now only have five in each one,

[00:48:00] and Jack Doherty is on course,

[00:48:03] to score 100 goals,

[00:48:04] and he's going to bleed us dry.

[00:48:07] We need you to help the gang,

[00:48:08] by joining our Patreon,

[00:48:10] for exclusive pods,

[00:48:12] news,

[00:48:12] and much more.

[00:48:13] For a fiver a month,

[00:48:15] you can ensure that Wayne,

[00:48:16] doesn't smash up his laptop,

[00:48:18] that Dan has really small clothes,

[00:48:20] Eileen is satisfied,

[00:48:21] and Declan gets lots,

[00:48:23] and lots of jellies.

[00:48:25] Head to patreon.com forward slash,

[00:48:27] toe tap,

[00:48:28] to support the cause.

[00:48:36] Welcome back to part two,

[00:48:38] So Tapper,

[00:48:39] it is,

[00:48:39] the moment,

[00:48:40] you've been waiting for.

[00:48:42] It is the moment,

[00:48:43] we find out,

[00:48:44] if Gary Hunt,

[00:48:45] is under pressure.

[00:48:50] Tuna lasts so long for town,

[00:48:56] away from Hunt,

[00:48:57] I think the table now,

[00:49:07] they are eighth on the table,

[00:49:10] 3D,

[00:49:11] they have 41 points,

[00:49:12] so does 3D,

[00:49:13] but,

[00:49:14] 3D,

[00:49:15] Mongolia friends,

[00:49:16] is Gary Hunt under pressure?

[00:49:18] Yes he is,

[00:49:19] yes he is,

[00:49:22] Gary Hunt,

[00:49:26] which is sad to see.

[00:49:27] Steve,

[00:49:29] the trophy lift,

[00:49:31] in turn of the cross,

[00:49:32] this Friday,

[00:49:33] against the Wexicans,

[00:49:35] Wayne Mullins,

[00:49:36] will you be in attendance,

[00:49:37] will you be invading the pitch?

[00:49:39] Very excited Daniel,

[00:49:41] not a trophy,

[00:49:42] that means a lot to the people of Cork,

[00:49:44] and I'll be there,

[00:49:46] will I be celebrating?

[00:49:46] No,

[00:49:47] I don't celebrate mediocrity,

[00:49:48] I don't celebrate mediocrity,

[00:49:51] I'll be happy,

[00:49:52] not a trophy in the cabinet,

[00:49:53] but to me this is like,

[00:49:54] winning the League Cup,

[00:49:55] the old League Cup,

[00:49:56] the Montesina Cup,

[00:49:56] it's,

[00:49:58] it's a trophy,

[00:50:00] I'll come home,

[00:50:01] and I'll have a few drinks again,

[00:50:02] but I certainly won't be,

[00:50:04] wearing my scarf,

[00:50:06] swinging around loudly,

[00:50:07] on people's backs,

[00:50:08] and having crack,

[00:50:08] and hugging people,

[00:50:09] no that,

[00:50:09] that doesn't happen,

[00:50:10] until we qualify for Europe.

[00:50:13] Declan McCarroll,

[00:50:14] you're just clapping politely,

[00:50:16] but what can we expect,

[00:50:18] from,

[00:50:19] from the Wexford game,

[00:50:20] are we actually going to put in a performance,

[00:50:22] or do you think,

[00:50:23] on the evidence we've probably seen,

[00:50:25] it's just going to be a bit meh,

[00:50:28] I have two expectations,

[00:50:30] the first,

[00:50:31] is obviously,

[00:50:33] I know this isn't something,

[00:50:34] we have mentioned once,

[00:50:36] these words have never been mentioned,

[00:50:37] in this podcast,

[00:50:38] since we won the League,

[00:50:41] but obviously,

[00:50:44] Wexford and their manager,

[00:50:45] are big on respect,

[00:50:46] and everything else,

[00:50:47] so obviously,

[00:50:49] Wexford are going to give us,

[00:50:50] a guard of honour,

[00:50:52] nobody at Cork City,

[00:50:53] gives a shit about it,

[00:50:54] nobody at Cork City,

[00:50:55] gives a shit about it,

[00:50:57] but obviously,

[00:50:58] James Keddie,

[00:51:00] is big on respect,

[00:51:02] and all that,

[00:51:03] goes around that,

[00:51:05] so he would obviously,

[00:51:05] want to show Cork City,

[00:51:06] the respect that they are due,

[00:51:08] so that's the first thing,

[00:51:09] I'm looking forward to,

[00:51:10] is that guard of honour,

[00:51:12] onto the pitch for Cork City,

[00:51:14] and following that then,

[00:51:16] I think Tim Clancy plays,

[00:51:17] the strongest team,

[00:51:18] I think he starts,

[00:51:19] as strong as he can,

[00:51:20] it's not a game,

[00:51:22] that we want to lose,

[00:51:23] it's not a game,

[00:51:24] that we want to,

[00:51:25] fanny about in,

[00:51:26] and thing like,

[00:51:27] you know,

[00:51:27] so I think,

[00:51:28] I think he goes as strong,

[00:51:29] as he can go,

[00:51:30] final game of the season,

[00:51:31] gets them up for it,

[00:51:32] tells them go out,

[00:51:33] entertain,

[00:51:34] what I hope will be a big crowd,

[00:51:35] genuinely hope,

[00:51:36] it'll be a big crowd,

[00:51:38] and,

[00:51:39] we do a job on the Wexicans,

[00:51:41] as you call them,

[00:51:42] and,

[00:51:44] James Keddie,

[00:51:45] trots off back to the,

[00:51:46] playoffs,

[00:51:48] quietly,

[00:51:49] hopefully,

[00:51:50] and go to win,

[00:51:51] it is the same,

[00:51:51] James Keddie,

[00:51:52] who had a pop off for you,

[00:51:53] on social media,

[00:51:55] when you were,

[00:51:55] and I seen him,

[00:51:57] up at the,

[00:51:58] Toronto expert game,

[00:51:58] and it was only delighted,

[00:52:00] they last saw,

[00:52:02] I think our cover,

[00:52:03] of this week's pod,

[00:52:04] needs to be pictured,

[00:52:05] James Keddie,

[00:52:06] and we just call it,

[00:52:08] guard of honour,

[00:52:09] respect,

[00:52:10] okay yeah,

[00:52:11] are we tagging,

[00:52:12] on every social media platform,

[00:52:13] and make sure he knows,

[00:52:14] that we don't forget,

[00:52:17] the abuse,

[00:52:18] he was trying to,

[00:52:19] don't,

[00:52:19] give our Daniel,

[00:52:21] no,

[00:52:21] um,

[00:52:22] the world is,

[00:52:23] the wheel is always turning,

[00:52:24] Wayne,

[00:52:24] what are you expecting,

[00:52:25] are you expecting him to go,

[00:52:27] hell for a letter,

[00:52:28] on this one,

[00:52:29] or just,

[00:52:29] oh yeah,

[00:52:30] you have to play the strongest team,

[00:52:31] and actually,

[00:52:32] none of this,

[00:52:32] have fun,

[00:52:33] go up there,

[00:52:33] it has to be proper,

[00:52:34] go win the game,

[00:52:35] batter them,

[00:52:37] hopefully there's a big crowd,

[00:52:37] I'm unsure,

[00:52:39] there won't be a big crowd,

[00:52:40] I think there'll be about 3,000,

[00:52:42] maybe,

[00:52:43] three and a half,

[00:52:43] hopefully,

[00:52:44] that's,

[00:52:45] I think that's a push,

[00:52:47] but I hope we advertise it now,

[00:52:48] and,

[00:52:50] get it out there,

[00:52:50] and you know,

[00:52:54] remember our last game,

[00:52:55] in the first division,

[00:52:56] and hope that's our very,

[00:52:57] very last time here,

[00:52:58] and just,

[00:52:59] go up with a bang,

[00:53:01] get a few fireworks set off,

[00:53:02] and stuff,

[00:53:03] and,

[00:53:04] we should go up north,

[00:53:05] and get some fireworks,

[00:53:09] they're legal up there,

[00:53:10] bring them down,

[00:53:11] oh,

[00:53:11] what's the bang got,

[00:53:14] I made a visit somewhere,

[00:53:16] fireworks,

[00:53:22] won't kill anyone,

[00:53:29] can I just ask you there,

[00:53:31] Scotty,

[00:53:31] I saw something today,

[00:53:32] on Twitter,

[00:53:34] what do you think,

[00:53:35] our average attendance,

[00:53:36] has been so far,

[00:53:37] now obviously,

[00:53:37] we've the last game,

[00:53:38] so we could push it up,

[00:53:39] but,

[00:53:39] across the season,

[00:53:41] what do you think,

[00:53:41] our average attendance,

[00:53:42] half those,

[00:53:43] half those announcements,

[00:53:44] were wrong,

[00:53:45] and I don't care,

[00:53:45] anyone tells me,

[00:53:47] they included season ticket holders,

[00:53:48] or something,

[00:53:49] so I think,

[00:53:50] our average realistically,

[00:53:51] was 2,500,

[00:53:52] but I'm betting,

[00:53:54] not betting,

[00:53:54] but I'd imagine,

[00:53:55] it says 3,300,

[00:53:57] but that's no way,

[00:53:58] is that right,

[00:53:58] because there were certain,

[00:53:59] games there,

[00:54:00] and they were announcing,

[00:54:01] 3,500,

[00:54:01] and we were looking,

[00:54:02] there's barely even 2,000 here,

[00:54:03] like,

[00:54:05] yeah,

[00:54:06] no,

[00:54:08] what should we call it,

[00:54:09] what's that site called again,

[00:54:11] has it down,

[00:54:11] as our average,

[00:54:12] so far,

[00:54:13] is 2,858,

[00:54:15] which I thought,

[00:54:17] was quite disappointing,

[00:54:18] I have to say,

[00:54:19] well,

[00:54:20] it's definitely not true,

[00:54:21] it's definitely less,

[00:54:23] because we were announcing,

[00:54:24] we were announcing numbers,

[00:54:25] mad numbers at one stage,

[00:54:26] I think it leveled out,

[00:54:27] nearly anything,

[00:54:28] we kind of calmed down,

[00:54:29] but people on the forum,

[00:54:30] then going,

[00:54:31] oh,

[00:54:31] but it is,

[00:54:31] I'm not going to count them,

[00:54:32] but it was definitely,

[00:54:33] four and a half million people there,

[00:54:34] it's bullshit like,

[00:54:36] you know the usual suspects,

[00:54:41] for a fella,

[00:54:42] who was coming on the pod,

[00:54:43] for the whole,

[00:54:44] era,

[00:54:45] the season finished,

[00:54:46] five weeks ago,

[00:54:46] I don't care,

[00:54:47] attitudes,

[00:54:48] you've got a complete 180,

[00:54:50] on it,

[00:54:50] like,

[00:54:50] I mean,

[00:54:51] it's amazing,

[00:54:52] oh god,

[00:54:53] I don't,

[00:54:54] I don't talk about,

[00:54:55] city outside of this anymore,

[00:54:56] I don't,

[00:54:56] like,

[00:54:56] you know,

[00:54:57] and even on WhatsApp,

[00:54:58] I barely talk,

[00:54:58] I don't go on the forums,

[00:54:59] often as I used to,

[00:55:00] but when I start talking about it,

[00:55:01] it brings all this,

[00:55:02] hurt and pain,

[00:55:03] and stuff back,

[00:55:04] and it's,

[00:55:04] it's really annoying me now,

[00:55:06] actually,

[00:55:07] is Scott here tired?

[00:55:08] He is,

[00:55:08] he's gone,

[00:55:09] he's going to be gone,

[00:55:09] yeah,

[00:55:10] I'm going to,

[00:55:11] I'm going to take a bit of him though,

[00:55:12] I'm going to keep bringing it with me,

[00:55:12] and keep it close to my heart,

[00:55:14] the bitterness will stay,

[00:55:16] I'll keep that part,

[00:55:18] I don't know what to say,

[00:55:19] we have,

[00:55:19] we have the hour pod,

[00:55:20] as well,

[00:55:21] we do,

[00:55:22] so,

[00:55:24] we have a where do you go,

[00:55:25] a little,

[00:55:25] really short one,

[00:55:25] of five lines long,

[00:55:27] go for it,

[00:55:27] let's go for it,

[00:55:29] he won't do it,

[00:55:29] unless there's music though,

[00:55:30] yeah,

[00:55:32] I want my song,

[00:55:32] just getting it,

[00:55:33] just getting it,

[00:55:34] that's in my top 10 songs,

[00:55:35] of all time,

[00:55:35] I just got to say that,

[00:55:36] where do you go,

[00:55:58] DJ Techie there,

[00:56:01] okay,

[00:56:01] so we have Gerald Dobbs,

[00:56:03] this is a short one now,

[00:56:04] because I couldn't find much info on him,

[00:56:05] but,

[00:56:05] he was born the 21st of January 1971,

[00:56:08] in Lambeth,

[00:56:08] in England,

[00:56:09] he played 33 games for Wimbledon,

[00:56:11] and scored the very first goal,

[00:56:13] on Sky Sports Monday Night Football,

[00:56:16] his only goal for Wimbledon,

[00:56:17] Dobbs went on to play for Cardiff City,

[00:56:19] and Dover Athletic,

[00:56:20] where we signed him from,

[00:56:20] in 1998,

[00:56:22] he signed for Cork City,

[00:56:23] from Dover,

[00:56:24] alongside Dominic Iorfa,

[00:56:25] who was another word as you go,

[00:56:27] and he scored five league goals,

[00:56:28] in 32 games,

[00:56:29] over two seasons,

[00:56:30] including a hat trick,

[00:56:31] against Waterford United,

[00:56:32] Dobbs went on to play,

[00:56:33] for Cove Ramblers,

[00:56:34] retired in 2004,

[00:56:36] the 52 year old,

[00:56:37] is now the owner of,

[00:56:38] D&B Scaffolding Limited,

[00:56:39] in Chelmsford,

[00:56:41] that is Gerald Dobbs,

[00:56:43] where do you,

[00:56:46] DJ cuts it off,

[00:56:56] tell me Scotty,

[00:56:57] what else is in your list,

[00:56:58] of the 10 greatest songs,

[00:56:59] of all time,

[00:57:01] oh Jesus,

[00:57:02] there's a few,

[00:57:03] Bob Marley and Elvis,

[00:57:04] in there for sure,

[00:57:05] I would say,

[00:57:07] I like A Ha Take On Me,

[00:57:09] that's a good tune,

[00:57:11] Huey Lewis in the News,

[00:57:12] Power of Love,

[00:57:13] good song,

[00:57:14] there's a lot of 80s and 90s,

[00:57:15] in here,

[00:57:16] Mark Mars,

[00:57:17] Return of the Mac,

[00:57:18] a lot of shit in here,

[00:57:19] I must say,

[00:57:21] who else,

[00:57:23] No Mercy sang that song,

[00:57:24] that's who it was,

[00:57:25] do you know what it was,

[00:57:26] these are all kind of like,

[00:57:27] that was a song,

[00:57:27] when I was like 15,

[00:57:28] 16,

[00:57:29] I don't know what,

[00:57:30] that song,

[00:57:31] I said it was about 95,

[00:57:31] when was Peter Andre,

[00:57:34] where was Peter Andre's song,

[00:57:35] Mysterious,

[00:57:36] that was about 95,

[00:57:36] wasn't it,

[00:57:37] 94,

[00:57:37] 95,

[00:57:38] Becky,

[00:57:40] they're on the same time,

[00:57:41] I know nothing about Peter Andre,

[00:57:45] I know nothing about Peter Andre,

[00:57:47] he was married to Jordan,

[00:57:48] Coachford,

[00:57:49] Jesus Christ,

[00:57:50] I remember Coachford,

[00:57:51] Disco,

[00:57:51] I had Ovens,

[00:57:52] Coachford,

[00:57:53] Rocco and,

[00:57:54] Grenade,

[00:57:56] Grenade,

[00:57:56] never went up there,

[00:57:57] that's Northside isn't it,

[00:57:59] Grenade's,

[00:57:59] I wouldn't dare,

[00:58:00] North Carthalick or Halfway Tamala,

[00:58:01] I wouldn't,

[00:58:02] oh no I wouldn't dare across the river,

[00:58:04] I still don't cross the river,

[00:58:05] but you were in Coachford,

[00:58:08] get out of that,

[00:58:09] let's say,

[00:58:10] figure it takes out,

[00:58:10] it's Coachford Northside,

[00:58:12] is it not is it,

[00:58:13] it's not Northside,

[00:58:15] but Coachford's way out,

[00:58:17] yeah but it's not Northside,

[00:58:18] I wouldn't cross the river is what I'm saying,

[00:58:19] Coachford's by Ovens,

[00:58:20] do you cross the lead to get there,

[00:58:24] Coachford's not by Ovens,

[00:58:27] Coachford's out the country,

[00:58:28] way out the country,

[00:58:29] shit it is too,

[00:58:31] yeah,

[00:58:31] okay fair enough,

[00:58:33] eager beaver as they say back in the day,

[00:58:37] so you were eager for beaver,

[00:58:38] are you right,

[00:58:39] I'd say,

[00:58:43] oh Christ,

[00:58:44] the good old days,

[00:58:44] the good old days,

[00:58:47] with the slim shady hair,

[00:58:48] yeah,

[00:58:50] yeah,

[00:58:50] no,

[00:58:51] what 14,

[00:58:52] 15,

[00:58:52] no I would have found 16,

[00:58:53] when I got the hair done,

[00:58:55] I'd say,

[00:58:55] anyways,

[00:58:56] I think,

[00:58:57] oh yeah,

[00:58:57] give us a prediction,

[00:58:58] for the,

[00:58:58] the Wex,

[00:58:59] the Wex skin game,

[00:59:00] win,

[00:59:01] 7-0,

[00:59:03] Dickie,

[00:59:05] your last prediction of the year,

[00:59:08] we should have got James Ceddy on,

[00:59:09] because he wouldn't have remembered us,

[00:59:10] then we'd just go all barrels going,

[00:59:12] we should have got James Ceddy on,

[00:59:13] fuck's sake,

[00:59:14] we'll get him on after,

[00:59:16] we'll get him on after,

[00:59:17] alright,

[00:59:17] and that concludes,

[00:59:19] oh before you go on,

[00:59:20] that just reminds me,

[00:59:21] before you go,

[00:59:23] MVP,

[00:59:24] awards,

[00:59:25] etc,

[00:59:26] it's kind of like Friday night,

[00:59:27] oh yeah,

[00:59:27] who won it,

[00:59:28] the last chance to,

[00:59:29] I don't know,

[00:59:30] we're still waiting on Ceddy's one,

[00:59:33] to figure that out,

[00:59:35] will we ask,

[00:59:35] no we'll do,

[00:59:36] we'll ask him to get us one again,

[00:59:37] right,

[00:59:37] and see if he shows up this time,

[00:59:38] I guarantee he won't,

[00:59:42] let's give him the power again,

[00:59:44] to get it again this year,

[00:59:45] and let's see now,

[00:59:46] if he turns up with the second one,

[00:59:47] or he forgets again,

[00:59:50] because I got the one,

[00:59:51] who's that,

[00:59:51] who's the second,

[00:59:52] Bolger one,

[00:59:52] oh yeah,

[00:59:53] I had to go collect the Bolger one,

[00:59:54] right,

[00:59:55] was it Bolger,

[00:59:56] won the second year,

[00:59:57] I had to go collect that,

[00:59:58] because it was going to be late again,

[00:59:59] last year,

[01:00:00] didn't bother collecting it,

[01:00:01] the first year was Kean Barger,

[01:00:02] he got it all right,

[01:00:03] but guarantee no,

[01:00:04] we'll ask him to do it again,

[01:00:05] and he won't get it,

[01:00:07] who won it,

[01:00:08] or do we tell people,

[01:00:09] I don't know,

[01:00:10] don't know,

[01:00:11] we'll have to figure that out,

[01:00:12] we'll have to figure that out,

[01:00:14] I'm not up to date,

[01:00:15] but that can be sorted,

[01:00:16] that can be sorted quickly,

[01:00:18] but we,

[01:00:18] we need to get trophies,

[01:00:20] we've two,

[01:00:21] one for Keats for last year,

[01:00:22] and one for whoever won,

[01:00:24] this year has won,

[01:00:25] who are the Shouts,

[01:00:26] O'Sullivan,

[01:00:27] Bolger,

[01:00:29] Wade,

[01:00:29] yeah it's Greg,

[01:00:30] Wade might be up there,

[01:00:31] no it's Greg,

[01:00:32] it's Greg,

[01:00:33] or,

[01:00:34] Greg or Kean,

[01:00:37] probably Greg I'd imagine,

[01:00:40] why did I say Kean,

[01:00:42] why did I say Kean,

[01:00:43] instead of Cahill,

[01:00:44] Cahill,

[01:00:45] that makes no sense,

[01:00:46] anyway yeah,

[01:00:47] if Cahill wins it,

[01:00:48] we'll probably have to get Dan,

[01:00:49] to give the trophy,

[01:00:50] because I'm not sure he'll be allowed,

[01:00:51] to go near him,

[01:00:51] but anyway we'll,

[01:00:57] I'm not sure we're going to be,

[01:00:58] to go near anyone,

[01:00:59] it's going to be like,

[01:01:00] the first year with Bagsy again,

[01:01:02] we have Scotty hanging over,

[01:01:03] the fence rolling at Jonas Hacken,

[01:01:04] get Bagsy down to us,

[01:01:06] and Bagsy comes down,

[01:01:07] and we just throw it over,

[01:01:08] the fence to him,

[01:01:08] there you go Kean,

[01:01:10] congratulations,

[01:01:11] like you know,

[01:01:12] at least the second year,

[01:01:13] we were allowed onto the pitch,

[01:01:14] and you know,

[01:01:15] proper presentation,

[01:01:16] Darren and what not,

[01:01:18] I will surely be allowed,

[01:01:19] this time around,

[01:01:19] we will not be allowed,

[01:01:20] I think we need to,

[01:01:21] we need to do something,

[01:01:22] to make a kind of,

[01:01:24] we have to camp out,

[01:01:25] will we just run onto the pitch,

[01:01:26] for the crack,

[01:01:28] with the trophy,

[01:01:29] hand it to him,

[01:01:30] and run straight back,

[01:01:31] we could like,

[01:01:32] we could like,

[01:01:33] because the pitch will be invaded,

[01:01:35] like,

[01:01:35] so you could run on,

[01:01:38] and try and grab Keats,

[01:01:39] and go Keats,

[01:01:41] congratulations on winning,

[01:01:43] 2023 MVP,

[01:01:44] no one's late,

[01:01:45] but it's better late than never,

[01:01:47] there you go kids,

[01:01:47] you know,

[01:01:48] and then run around,

[01:01:49] and find,

[01:01:51] whoever,

[01:01:51] look the only thing,

[01:01:52] is if it's Greg,

[01:01:53] you know you'll catch up with Greg,

[01:01:54] because he'll be using the walking sticks,

[01:01:56] and whatnot,

[01:01:56] to get back to the,

[01:01:57] to the dressing room,

[01:02:01] sorry Greg,

[01:02:01] I'm only joking,

[01:02:03] I'm only joking,

[01:02:04] yeah,

[01:02:05] look we'll have to see what happens,

[01:02:06] but we'll have to order a trophy,

[01:02:09] put it on a helium balloon,

[01:02:11] for it autumn,

[01:02:14] how about,

[01:02:15] how about we,

[01:02:16] how about we wrap it up,

[01:02:17] in a Basque flag,

[01:02:18] that we bought during the year,

[01:02:19] and just launch it,

[01:02:24] oh,

[01:02:24] we have to,

[01:02:25] the club now,

[01:02:25] we'll think we're pure serious again,

[01:02:27] like the shagging golf day,

[01:02:28] like,

[01:02:28] like the golf,

[01:02:29] yeah,

[01:02:30] they'll increase security,

[01:02:31] they're only looking for,

[01:02:32] excuse to ban us anyway,

[01:02:33] so like,

[01:02:33] I'd say if we ran onto the pitch,

[01:02:34] that's their excuse done,

[01:02:35] so I'd be sitting firmly,

[01:02:36] in my seat,

[01:02:38] in the stand,

[01:02:39] not letting,

[01:02:40] have an excuse,

[01:02:41] smart,

[01:02:42] smart,

[01:02:44] okay,

[01:02:44] we'll see what happens,

[01:02:45] we'll try to figure it out,

[01:02:47] we'll do something,

[01:02:48] that would involve golf,

[01:02:49] yeah,

[01:02:51] take a few,

[01:02:51] take a few shots,

[01:02:52] and turn us across,

[01:02:54] all right,

[01:02:55] bye lads,

[01:02:56] see you later,

[01:02:56] time to wrap it up,

[01:02:57] adios,

[01:02:58] adios,

[01:02:58] adios,

[01:02:59] adios,

[01:03:00] what the hell you know,

[01:03:01] at the end run,

[01:03:03] the next episode,

[01:03:04] will be available,

[01:03:05] very soon,
