We caught up with the Galway United Manager after his sides 5-2 win against Cork City at Turners Cross

Galway United Women's team, under the guidance of manager Phil Trill, are keeping calm and carrying on amidst a chaotic schedule in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division. In a recent interview with Declan outside on the team bus Trill expressed his satisfaction with his team's performance and ability to adapt to the challenging circumstances.

Despite a gruelling travel schedule, the Galway United Women's team managed to secure a 2-0 lead within the first four minutes of a recent match. However, the half-time score was a closer 3-2, prompting Trill to give a motivating team talk.

Trill praised his team's spirit and adaptability, stating that they came out "like a team that hadn't travelled up and down Ireland for the week."

The second half of the game showcased the character of Trill's team, with the manager expressing his belief in his players' ability to handle problems on the field. He commended them for their self-awareness and ability to find solutions to challenges, a trait he believes is vital to the team's success.

Despite the demanding schedule, Trill seems to be relishing the challenge, stating that the team is "on a bit of a bounce now" and that they genuinely enjoy each other's company. He emphasises the importance of recovery and mental fatigue management in the team's training schedule, as they continue to adapt to the demanding circumstances.

As the season draws to a close, the possibility of capturing a league title looms large. Trill, however, remains focused on the task at hand, stating that the team is focusing on playing their style of football and enjoying the game.

Trill also took a moment to praise Therese Kinneavy, who captained the team in the absence of Jenna Slattery and Lindsay McKee. He described Kinneavy as a player who "loves everything about this club" and "always continues to give everything."

Despite the challenges, it's clear that Trill's team are thriving under pressure and are determined to finish the season on a high note. If their recent performances are anything to go by, they're definitely a team to watch out for in the coming weeks.
